Welcome 2022

What’s another year?

So here we are in 2022. 2021 was year many of us will want to forget, me included. A year where the whole rule book was thrown out the window. Covid-19 didn’t go away. I eventually my family and I contracted it around November too. Fun times!

But enough of all that, my main focus this year is my illustration, design and CPD (Continual Professional Development).

Sketching

I think 2021 exhausted a lot of us, creatively and personally.  I look at my physical sketch book and it’s pretty of any sketching entries. Procreate on my iPad Pro tells a different story as it’s full of digital sketches. It concerns me that the traditional side of drawing has been “gazumped” by the ease of access of the digital and the clean lines it offers. The habit of und and redo festers. I was helping out with a student’s college project the other week. When I made a mistake, my hand double tapped the paper… expecting it to undo what I had done! As amazing as the iPad is, I still think paper will always have its place and use.
